Is Watering Roots a non-profit?
We are currently waiting on our determination letter. As soon as we have been approved, you can view our 501c3 here.
What type of sports and arts can I fundraise for?
All sports and arts, including but not limited to- Band. Baseball. Basketball. Bowling. Cheerleading. Dance. Equestrian. Flag Football. Football. Golf. Gymnastics. Hockey. Karate. Lacrosse. Soccer. Softball. Swim. Tennis. Volleyball. Weightlifting. Wrestling.
What is the age limit for fundraising?
In order to fundraise with Watering Roots, your child must be under 21 and enrolled in an established sport or art program.
Does Watering Roots have a board or committees?
No, Watering Roots does not have a board outside of the executive officers (president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer). We also do not have any committees at this time.
What is the Watering roots General Fund?
The General Fund is money that is collected from donations. This money helps cover the cost of legal fees, document filing, insurance, etc.
Does Watering Roots have a scholarship?
We do not currently have a scholarship; however it is something we plan to explore in the future.
Do you have public meetings?
Watering Roots does have public meetings. There are no set dates for these meetings, but we try to have them at least three times a year.
How many children can I fundraise for?
Each family should have their own ‘Individual Fundraising Account’. A family consist of only the people that live in the home (full time or part time). We ask that one guardian/parent sets up the account for the family and anyone of age can fundraise for the children included in the agreement. (If a friend/family member would like to fundraise for another child that is on a different agreement with Watering Roots, that IS possible, we will just need to know before the event so that we can make sure that the correct account is credited).
How do i start fundraising?
To start fundraising you will need to fill out the Family Information Form, sign the Watering Roots agreement, submit your family contribution and join Band.
How do I sign up to fundraise?
Once all necessary documents have been filled out and signed, you are able to sign up for events through Band. We ask that every volunteer (including spouses, friends, cousins, etc) all have a Band account even if they are only volunteering once so that we can be sure to post donations to the correct family account. What type of fundraisers can i sign up for?
Watering Roots has established volunteering at UF Concessions in Gainesville, FL as the main source of fundraising. We do plan on expanding to other venues over time.
how do i know how much money i have raised?
Each family will receive a viewable Google Drive document to the email address they provide. In this document you will be able to view any donations you have received as well as view a log of your requested payments.
Can i request reimbursments?
Yes. You are able to request reimbursements for payments you have made to your child’s art or sport, as well as clothing and accessories related to the activity.
What items can i request reimbursment for?
Each art and sport have its own guidelines for reimbursement. All basic reimbursements such as fees you can easily show proof of by payment to the established sport or art facility, can be requested. Ex: tuition, competition fees, and uniforms or costumes.
How do i request a reimbursement?
Reimbursement request should be sent through the link on your Google Sheet. To request a reimbursement, you will need proof of purchase such as a receipt.
Can i request a payment before i volunteer?
No. Reimbursements and vendor payments may only be requested using your family’s available balance.
